The Biomedical Engineering minor-of-study is designed to accomplish two objectives:
- Require courses in basic biology, anatomy, physiology to provide students a basic understanding of life and the design and mechanics/dynamics of the human body. Also required is the only biomedical engineering course taught on the NMSU campus.
- Permit students to select from a wide range of elective courses numbered above 400 that emphasize engineering topics with application to the design and development of medical devices.
