Frank (BSCHE 81) and Jennifer Seidel have established an endowment that will serve the Brewery Engineering program within Chemical & Materials Engineering. This $25K endowment (matched on Giving Tuesday) will provide funds for activities such as conference attendance fees or for laboratory supplies. In addition, the Seidel’s provided another $25K in current use funding to further assist NMSBrew is establishing a center of excellence for brewing as well as beer and agricultural product feedstock analysis. The support of the Seidel’s has led to a national championship at the 2019 American Institute of Chemical Engineers brewing competition by the entires of the Rio Grande Local Chapter (strongly represented by NMSBrew personnel, as well as CHME alumni).
