2+2 Program with San Juan College
The Associate of Science degree in Chemical Engineering will provide students with principles, knowledge, and skills required to begin a career in the field requiring chemical engineering. The Associate of Science degree in Chemical Engineering through San Juan College is intended to prepare students for transfer to the Bachelor of Science Chemical Engineering program at New Mexico State University (NMSU). The program was developed in collaboration between SJC and NMSU’s College of Engineering to provide all of the courses in the first two years of their four-year program. The NMSU courses will be taught through on-line synchronous distance education by the NMSU Faculty.

Students will need to apply to both campuses as part of this program. For most students, Financial Aid will be processed through San Juan College. FAFSA forms should always be submitted to San Juan College. Students will need to file a consortium agreement each semester to make sure the financial assistance is directed towards the appropriate university.
Download Consortium Agreement (PDF).
If students are directly paying for their tuition, they will likely have to submit FAFSA forms to both institutions and arrange payments to both institutions.
At NMSU, an on-line section of the course will be set up for the San Juan students only. San Juan students are encouraged to contact the NMSU student contact below in a timely manner to ensure that these sections are set up as needed. In addition, the NMSU contact can provide detailed information on how to register for the San Juan College section so that other students do not enroll and fill all of the allotted seats.
