Welcome to the NMSU Chemical & Materials Engineering Department website. In addition to the basic NMSU Chemical Engineering curriculum, CHME has other curricula of study that include:
- Minors of Study in Biomedical Engineering, Brewery Engineering, Computational Engineering, Materials Engineering, Nuclear Chemical Engineering, Pre-Law Intellectual Property and Pre-Medicine Studies.
- 5-year track to combined Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (BSCHE) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees.
- 5-year track to combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering degrees.
Students receive hands-on lab experience every semester of their studies.
CHME students can study from anywhere in the Bob & Gwen Watkins Connected Learning Classroom (WCLC). Adobe Connect technology in this classroom permits students to attend and participate both in real time or asynchronously from anywhere they have an internet connection. Learn about the convenience of online education without the cold impersonal feeling of online classes. The WCLC provides students with the warmth and friendliness of one of the CHME faculty presenting each lecture, live and with two-way communication capabilities.
CHMEs are finding employment in diverse employment with starting salaries exceeding $100,000/year for some industries. You’ll find this website answers all your questions, whether your a current student or are considering joining la familia. If you cannot find what you seek, ask.
