Air Force Research Labs Engineering Position

Please see below/attached for a full time position at the Air Force Research Labs in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The position is intended for graduate students, but qualified undergrads are also welcome to apply.  

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Satellite Assessment Center (SatAc) evaluates directed energy (DE) effects on space systems, performs assessments of space system susceptibilities to directed energy and natural sources, and develops tools to perform satellite and space systems technical analyses.

SatAc is seeking a motivated scientist/engineer to conduct research in support of Space Situational Awareness activities.  This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on directed energy effects to on-orbit materials and oversee basic research related to the analysis of radiometric material properties and enhancing existing materials databases.   

Experience working in the area(s) of materials science, materials testing, photonics, or spectroscopy is required.

This position if authorized as a direct hire position, is part of a performance based pay system, and offers competitive pay and benefits.  This unique opportunity to support our Nation’s space defenses is open to United State citizens who can obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
