From Jennifer Ornelas (BSCHE 2016) – “We have an extreme shortage of Quality Engineers at Raytheon right now, our biggest problem is that we need potential candidates that already have security clearances since we have stopped allowing those that are waiting on them to start working until at least an interim has been granted due to the scope of work. If you know anyone (new grad/post grad looking for a new career) that has a security clearance, please feel free to give them my email email@example.com and have them send over their resume and I will get it to the right people along with a recommendation to expedite due to an existing clearance! Raytheon pays very well, we often have people who are coming in with prior management experience of large scale manufacturing teams at other companies coming in as an individual contributor Quality Engineer with an offer higher than their previous salary as a Manager. If they have a clearance they will even offer a bonus as an incentive and also pay for relocation. Thought I’d put it out there since I know you very much enjoy helping those having a hard time finding a job get some help! 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions!
Also Dept of Energy clearances can be “converted” to Dept of Defense clearances (Q clearance is equivalent to a Top Secret with SCI for the DoD). Most of our positions only require a Secret, but having a TS will put you at the top of the candidate list and you will most likely receive an extensive list of different offers!”
