CHME is “Preparing Future Faculty” five years in a row, Jiuling Yu selected for 2017-2018

The Graduate Council Fellowship selection committee has awarded Jiuling Yu a Preparing Future Faculty Graduate Assistantship for academic year 2017-2018. This is one of the highest merit awards of the Graduate School.  Jiuling is the fifth consecutive CHME graduate student to receive this award.  Others who have been honored with this recognition include:

  • 2016-2017: Qavi Sahar
  • 2015-2016: John Schutte
  • 2014-2014: Leili Karimi
  • 2013-2014: Ling Fei

Students who receive this award are expected: (a) to implement the work plan that was developed by the faculty advisor; (b) to participate in the Preparing Future Faculty workshops of the Graduate School in conjunction with the Teaching Academy; and (c) to attend orientation meetings. An evaluation form designed by the Graduate School will be provided to faculty to assess student progress. Students will also complete an evaluation form that discusses their experiences.

In addition, CHME grad students also received the following 2017-2018 Graduate School awards:

  • Maria Marquez Garcia – Graduate Assistant Tuition Fellowship
  • Alireza Bandegi – Outstanding Graduate Assistantship award
  • Tom Nakote – Outstanding Graduate Assistantship award
  • Feng Cheng – Merit Based Enhancement award
