ChEGSO named 2017 Student Organization of the Year

The Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Organization (ChEGSO) has been awarded “Student Organization of the Year” for 2017. It is awarded by the Office of Dean of Student Affairs at NMSU to the organization which demonstrates true excellence among peers with the NMSU campus community.  It is for the first time that ChEGSO has been presented with this award since its inception 5 years ago. ChEGSO is a one of the first GSO’s on campus with participation and involvement of graduate students from different cultures, trying to make a difference on campus and the community around.

“Since we are relatively a ‘young’ organization, it is a great boost for us to move ahead. It not only recognizes the efforts of the organization in this past year, but it is dedicated to the hardwork put in by previous committees and all the student members who have been a part of ChEGSO since its inception. This would not be possible without the support and encouragement of Dr. Rockstraw and Dr. Brewer.” ~Kapil Nichani, 2016-2017 ChEGSO President
